A former professional Lithuanian basketball player and current coach, known for his international experience and impact on player development. A standout center at the University of South Carolina, he went on to play professionally in Poland and Lithuania, including a stint with Neptūnas Klaipėda in the LKL. He also represented Lithuania in the 2013 FIBA Europe U-20 Championship, averaging 7.9 points and 8.1 rebounds. Now in his 4th season with Forges Sports Academy, Laimonas mentors student-athletes—especially frontcourt players—helping them refine their skills and earn college scholarships.

Ryan Powell enters his first season with Forges Sports Academy bringing extensive experience and leadership as Director of Operations, High School Athletic Director, and Head Coach of the Blue Team. A Florida International University graduate with a degree in Sports Management, Ryan has built a successful career in athletic administration, event coordination, and player development. Known for his integrity, strategic mindset, and passion for mentorship, he has worked with athletes from grassroots to high-level high school programs. Whether managing operations or coaching on the court, Ryan is committed to fostering discipline, accountability, and excellence in all he does.

Alex Thomas is in his fourth season with Forge Sports Academy as the lead assistant coach and head of player development. A former NCAA Division II starter at Edward Waters University, he brings collegiate playing experience that translates into high-level instruction and mentorship. Known for his attention to detail and player-first approach, Coach Thomas leads individual and team development sessions focused on fundamentals, basketball IQ, strength, and mental toughness. His commitment to discipline, consistency, and excellence has helped numerous players grow on and off the court, with many advancing to collegiate programs. More than a coach, Thomas is a mentor and role model to the young men at Forge.

With over 13 years of coaching experience and 5 years as a basketball director, Coach Z has built a winning culture rooted in athletic excellence and character development. His philosophy — “fast-break with tradition” — blends high-tempo strategies with timeless values like discipline, teamwork, and accountability. Known for visionary leadership and relentless commitment to player growth, Coach Z has guided his teams to major milestones, including a 2017 RSEQ Seasonal Championship and a run of State titles in Quebec: Silver in 2021, Bronze in 2022, and Gold in 2024. Beyond the court, he’s shaped countless young men into leaders, emphasizing resilience, self-determination, and purpose.
